About Me

Hey everyone! My name is Lauren and I am a Junior here at GCU! Let tell you a little bit about myself. I am a Psychology and Education K-5 with Special Ed major and I will be entering my Senior year in just a few short weeks! I really can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. So what have I been doing over the past 3 (almost 4) years at GCU? I think the question is what haven’t I been doing. I’m involved in a few activities around campus such as WILD, Student Ambassador (STAR) and the honors program and a Student Blogger for the past 2 years. WILD stands for Women in Leadership Development and is a 4 phase program that basically teaches women how to be strong and independent. We attend conferences hosted by many prestigious companies and have many well known speakers come and talk and lecture. Overall, it is a wonderful program and I am so glad I could be a part of it. I’m also a Student Ambassador which means I give tours to prospective students and work open houses, I absolutely love it!

So as I said I am a Psychology and Education major. I absolutely love psychology and find anything and everything about the brain to be amazing! I also enjoy working with children so that is why I chose to go into the Education field. I’m actually doing my 60 hours of observation this semester which has been such a great opportunity thus far. I plan on teaching 5th grade after my graduation in 2010.

This semester I’m taking 19 credits and next semester I will be taking on 21 (wish me luck). Currently I’m taking a Science course with a lab, 3 Education classes, 1 psychology class and an Italian class.

I just recently made my communion through GCU’s campus ministry and will be confirmed this Tuesday which I really excited about. After the mass on Tuesday night at 5 there will be a celebration in the Mansion.

So what’s on for this week? This Saturday is the President’s Luncheon which I will be working at, giving tours and such so I’m looking forward to that and next weekend is open house!

Well, it’s study time!

Lauren
